This well-constructed, affordable, fully coated 3-layer set distributes heat evenly and is durable enough to withstand some abuse in a busy household.
The pots and pans in the Tramontina Gourmet 12-Piece Triple-Clad Cookware Set heat evenly and are comfortably weighted, so they didn't feel as much of a hassle to lift as others we've tried. We also found the ergonomic, rounded handle to be easy to hold. We've been recommending versions of this set for two years now, and we're confident this durable cookware set will last.
If you can't find a full set or would like to make a smaller set yourself, Tramontina also sells an “open stock” of cookware. To build this amazing 10-piece set (includes 6 utensils and 4 lids), you'll need the following parts:
If you want to start with some basics, you'll be able to cook a lot with just a 3-quart pot, 12-inch skillet, and an 8-quart stockpot. Or mix and match your favorite pieces.

This top-of-the-line fully clad three-layer set pot continues to impress us with its even heat distribution. Each cookware is extremely durable and has the ideal weight to hold.
If you're looking for superior quality cookware that will last a lifetime, look no further than the All-Clad D3 Triple-Ply Stainless Steel 10-Piece Set. The experts we spoke to said that All-Clad triple-layer cookware is extremely durable, making it perfect for both professional and home use. In our testing, the All-Clad pot heated evenly, was easy to hold, and had no trouble tackling any cooking task. Even though the largest skillet is only 10 inches instead of 12 inches, this set will equip your kitchen with all the other pots and pans you're likely to need. And if you like to keep your cookware sparkling clean, this set is one of the few that still looked like new when we cleaned it, even after years of testing. be careful.
budget selection
This fully clad, 3-layer set performed better than any other set we tested under $250. I like that it includes a larger frying pan, but the frying pan is heavy and hasn't proven as durable as some of our other recommendations.
We were impressed with the quality of the Goldilocks Cookware Set Plus, especially its low price. Fully coated triple-layer stainless steel provides even heating over the entire surface of the pot. This set includes almost all of our favorite sizes of pots and pans, including a 12-inch frying pan, which is rare in most sets. However, unlike the All-Clad and Tramontina sets, the Goldilocks set does not include a 3- or 4-quart sauté pan with a lid (although a cast iron skillet can be used instead) . Some of the products in this set are slightly heavier than the All-Clad and Tramontina products, so keep that in mind if you prefer lower weight cookware. I also experienced some sticking while sautéing the chicken in the skillet, but it was minimal. Overall, the Goldilocks set performed better than any other set we tested in this price range.
