NOIDA: A class XII girl student allegedly slipped and fell while watering plants from the balcony of her 18th floor apartment in Noida Extension Condominiums on Thursday.
The incident was reported from Himalayan Pride in Tech Zone 4 around 7:30 p.m. Police said the girl was alone on the balcony and her parents and sister were inside her home. She believes the girl accidentally slipped on water spilled on her floor and tripped over her railing.
The height of the balcony was deemed unsafe by several neighbors. Her parents claimed that the 18-year-old was recently promoted to class XII.
Police said a team from Bisrakh police station rushed to the spot after receiving a tip about the incident. The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. A case of accidental death has been filed, but police are investigating from all angles.
A class VII student died after falling from the 22nd floor of Eco Village 3 on Wednesday. Police believe the student jumped from the terrace as he had just appeared for his final exams, the results of which were due to be announced on Thursday. On February 22, a class 12 student of Mahagun Maiwoods Society allegedly jumped to his death from the 22nd floor of a building within hours of writing his board exams.
