A mirror that ticks many boxes, and this year's major home decor trend, is finally here. Asymmetric? Tick-tock. wave? Tick-tock. A unique design you've never seen before? It's ticking.
At the Ideal Home office, it's not uncommon to get a glimpse of a brand's upcoming collections and launches before they become readily available. So when we received a preview of what was coming to M&S Home, we were immediately struck by the original shape of the River full-length wall mirror with its asymmetrical wavy edges. Now that it's finally available in stores, we predict it'll be a hit in homewares this season.
Not only is this mirror unique and trendy, we love its flexible design. You can position and hang it any way you like, with the wavy side facing down over the sofa or vertically as a mirror in the hallway. This might be one of the most versatile new mirrors we've ever seen.

Named after its flowing shape that flows like a river's flow, this £139 design fits perfectly into the asymmetrical mirror trend we love and have seen so much this year. However, it doesn't work like this.
“Designers and homeowners alike are embracing the idea that beauty is found in irregular shapes and asymmetry,” says Sam Sutherland, interior stylist at Fritsch. “This is in line with the desire for a more organic, free-flowing aesthetic within our homes and reflects a departure from the rigid geometric structures that were popular in previous years.”

Tracey Haig, director of furniture and homewares brand Where Saints Go, adds: “We've noticed an increase in the popularity of asymmetrical mirrors compared to traditional rectangular or round options.” . Combining functionality and beauty, asymmetrical mirrors can add a delicate and sophisticated design element to your home. ”
We're so happy to see that it's not just wavy headboards that are getting a lot of attention, and the trend is spreading to everything from placemats to mirrors.
“Round shapes, curves and waves in all types of furniture were very prominent at this year's European Furniture Shows. As with high-end designer fashion shows, they were ahead of what was becoming popular in the UK. '' says Lucy Mather, head of design for luxury furniture and furnishings. This is an announcement from the Arrighi Bianchi store.
