Orangery, England, by McCloy and Muchemwa
A self-build renovation of a dilapidated garage by London-based studio McCloy and Muchemwa left the original brick walls intact.
The orange timber roof structure is matched with furniture of the same color throughout the interior, which includes storage areas, hobby zones and workbenches, as well as a bright greenhouse covered in polycarbonate.

Grunge Garage Studio, Scotland, by Gaffney Konishi
Renovated by Gaffney Konishi in the 1950s, the garage is adjacent to the existing Georgian property and houses the artist's music studio, featuring a rhythmic façade made of wooden battens.
The space has a calm and sophisticated texture, with dark stained furniture that matches the wooden beams inside the studio.

U.S. Shed Operation, Best Practice Architecture
Best Practice Architecture renovated this Seattle annex to include offices and a small gym as an extension of the main building.
Black synthetic rubber was used to cover the interior flooring and one side of the room's walls, while birch plywood was affixed to the remaining walls with boldly colored workspaces.

The Light Shed, England, by Richard John Andrews
Designed and built in just 21 days by architect Richard John Andrews and his assistants, The Light Shed is a 12m x 12m multifunctional shed that will house Andrews' architectural studio in his backyard.
The interior is lined with plywood and has shelf and desk space for 2-3 people. The studio also serves as a space for hosting events and gatherings.

Barn House, Norway, by John Danielsen Aarhus
Barn House, which replaces an existing dilapidated outbuilding in Lillehammer, Norway, was designed by Jon Danielsen Aarhus to create a space where a retired couple could paint, garden, and entertain friends .
The bright red entrance hall is followed by a wooden interior. There is a bright art studio on the upper floor of the building, and a gardening room and garage on the lower floor.

Eaton Accessory Building, Canada, by Motiv Architects
Made of cross-laminated timber (CLT) by Canadian studio Motiv Architects, the Eaton Accessories Building is a 30 square meter workshop connected to the owner's home through a garden.
Durable flooring and evenly spaced skylights create an industrial-style workspace. CLT mezzanine is used for additional storage.

This cork-covered studio designed by Thurman Weston provides space for sewing and music production in the backyard of a London home.
