Use mirrors as event decorations

Incorporating mirrors and other reflective surfaces can bring a sophisticated, modern, and often surprising element to your event décor. But don't just take our word for it. Scroll down to see some of the coolest mirror uses we spotted at events.

The latest edition of VidCon, held in June in Anaheim, California, featured a variety of immersive 360-degree environments centered around content capture in Meta's Creator Lounge. At the third ComplexCon in November 2018, Cadillac unveiled its new XT4 vehicle in collaboration with rapper Nas. The car was displayed in an eye-catching booth designed by Hfour, complete with his LED screen below and a reflective inflatable bubble above.  (The bubbles doubled as fun selfie opportunities.) Founded by Pharrell Williams and artist Takashi Murakami, the event, which focuses on music, art, and fashion, is held annually in Long Beach, California. At the BizBash trade show in July 2018, event entertainment company Champagne Creative Group created a futuristic mirror-themed booth on the exhibition floor, featuring a man made of mirrors and a woman posing with a martini glass. Toronto's Monogram Dinner by Design Presented by Caesarstone was held in January 2016 and featured interactive dining installations from 12 architecture and interior design firms. Each designer was given free rein for their own installation. The only instruction is to seat up to his 10 guests in each dining area. The design agency built a whimsical environment filled with neon and mirrors. At the 8th International Business Conference C2 Montreal, a space called the At the 8th International Business Conference C2 Montreal, a space called the “Alter Ego” lab challenged attendees to break away from their own perceptions with the aim of making bolder decisions. The three-step experience took place in a mirrored, infinity-like space. For a wedding in St. Barths, renowned designer Colin Cowie created a design that gradually drifted toward the horizon, with the aim of fooling perspective and making guests feel like they were stepping into the ocean. I created a series of shrinking reflective arches. In May 2017 in New York, Sony Electronics partnered with Tokyo-based artist Kaz Shirane to celebrate the launch of the A1E Bravia OLED TV with a unique audiovisual art exhibit. The concept of the installation was to redefine the boundaries of light, sound and space, so Shirane designed a site-specific tunnel with reflective geometric panels that projected the spectrum of light. At the end of New York Fashion Week 2021, Dior Beauty announced the Millefiori Garden Pop-Up, a retail activity celebrating the new Miss Dior Eau de Parfum.  The five-day experience featured a beauty station for shopping, a Miss Dior cafe serving branded lattes, and more.  Bicoastal's experiential marketing company AGENC worked closely with the fashion house to design a sensory experience that included a custom-designed structure that mimicked the shape of a Miss Dior bottle. The 6th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles in October 2015 added an elegant new Rose Garden, and $400 tickets have long sold out. American Ballet Theater's latest gala was held in New York in October 2021. The seated gala featured a variety of eclectic textiles, as well as tables arranged in a zigzag format. It was a fitting choice for the event's world premiere of Jessica Lange's ZigZag. For added visual interest, guests sat beneath an oversized mirrored globe. For the 10th annual VidCon in July 2019, entertainment company Fullscreen collaborated with AKJOHNSTON Group to create an upscale design with lush foliage archways, emerald green carpet, black draped walls, and crystal chandeliers. It featured agate-like wallpaper that mimicked rolling waves, plush velvet benches, gold accents, and a variety of circular mirrors and other reflective surfaces. The annual fundraiser features top designers, brands and local talent showcasing their creative and original work.
