The demand for smart electrical panels is increasing. To keep pace with this, home energy management technology company SPAN has partnered with Jabil, a global leader in engineering, manufacturing and supply chain solutions, to support the rapid expansion of SPAN's product portfolio.
SPAN designs products that replace traditional electrical panels with solar + storage + EV technology suitable for all-electric homes. SPAN's electrical panels allow users to control every circuit in their home in real time and perform valuable energy usage analysis all from his one app.
The challenge now is to expand that offering, and this challenge is being met through a partnership with Jabil. With over 100 manufacturing locations in over 25 countries around the world, Jabil specializes in an efficient global supply chain that helps bring technologically advanced solutions to market.
“Jabil applauds SPAN's goal of reinventing the electrical panel while enhancing the development and delivery of innovative smart home technologies,” said Hunter Lankford, Jabil's senior director of business development. . “Our years of collaboration will ensure that SPAN can expand its operations and achieve its mission of electrifying millions of American homes.”
In particular, Jabil's vertical integration capabilities, automated manufacturing expertise, and experience in developing EV charging solutions and other power electronics will give SPAN access to best-in-class manufacturing processes in the emerging electrification segment.
“As we continue to build the sustainable energy infrastructure needed to support mass electrification, there are many competitive startups seeking to become the chosen few who will shape that future,” SPAN CEO Arch Rao said. “Companies that successfully collaborate and leverage the power of their supply chains to scale rapidly will be at the forefront of this green energy movement. Our work with Jabil will help us continue to be a pioneer in this space. It moves us forward.”
SPAN has already announced new and expanded product lines in 2024, as well as partnerships with leaders in the utility equipment and new home construction industries. SPAN currently has connectivity panels in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Over-the-air updates continue to expand the functionality of installed products.
