Minimalist interiors are all the rage, but the days of drab interiors are over. This year, designers and decorators ushered in a new era of warm minimalism, hidden wealth, and quiet luxury.

In today's fast-paced world, it's more important than ever to have a peaceful retreat to return to, so the perfect wasteland for homeowners to turn to the principles of minimalism, switch off and unwind It's no wonder they create a space without.

Streamlined spaces that don't compromise on style or comfort are the epitome of this popular interior design trend, and that's the direction Ina Garten took with her minimalist living room.

However, unlike its cooler, more clinical siblings, the warm, minimalist interior promises to exude more character and comfort in a clean, functional space. The result is a welcoming, calm and uncluttered space that embodies the tranquil luxury trend.

Jenna Margolis, interior designer and founder of Shapeside, says it's always best to remember “less is more” when creating a relaxing, light-filled living room.

“You don't want furniture that fills the entire space. You want pieces that leave enough space, so the size of the pieces should be a little smaller than normal to look good. And when it comes to wall decorations, “Don't overdo it. You want to decorate your walls without covering up too much wall space,” she says.

Here, the artwork is limited to a single black and white photograph of Audrey Hepburn, carefully chosen to balance the predominantly beige color palette. Instead of accessories or wall decorations, a statement living room fireplace adds much-needed warmth.

Black and white living room paint ideas always look smart. A monochrome decoration scheme is a minimalist choice that requires an element of courage, as it requires careful editing and a strong design eye.

This type of interior can also look “flat” without introducing texture and subtle tonal variety. But when assembled carefully, they can be a great way to enhance your minimalist living room.

Tone and texture are important. Remember that the most successful monochrome interiors combine movement and depth with tactile pieces to create a warm and inviting minimalist scheme.

If you want to copy Ina Garten's plan, remember to prioritize quality over quantity. This pared-back look works in any environment.
