At this year's Milan Salone, IKEA made two big announcements: first, it was bringing two iconic furniture pieces out of storage; second, this September, the Swedish superstore will be launching an all-new collection, Brɓnnboll. Though it's technically made for gamers, we love one product so much that we can imagine it being used for a variety of purposes.

Although the series' gaming station cabinets are strictly for housing wide computer screens (they can accommodate screens up to 27 inches, and there's even space for a PC tower), they're also ideal desks for those who work from home. “We'd seen some DIY versions of gaming in closets,” says Philip Dilé, product design developer at IKEA. “But there was always an awkward chair placed to the side.” So they solved the problem: the cabinet doors open and close easily, and the desktop folds down so the chair can be stored inside, too. Good news for anyone with a messy desk: it's easy to hide the clutter the moment the day is over.
But there's a lot more to love about it, mainly the felt panels that absorb sound while you're making video calls or recording podcasts (genius!), plus you can hang important documents or even photos of your loved ones, just like in your high school locker.

When the cabinet is closed, the overall width is just 40 inches and the height is about 80 inches (about 29 inches deep), meaning it's a compact way to work from home without anyone noticing.
