How to bring autumn comfort to your office space

It's hard to feel motivated when the temperature drops and the sun starts to set before you're done. I understand how you feel. As the day draws to a close, you might start daydreaming about the delicious hot dinner you'll make during off-duty hours, or imagine yourself curled up in your lap with a cup of tea and a good book. Either way, you'll probably want to leave the office and go home (or leave your WFH settings alone), but don't close your laptop right away.

While we can't shorten your work hours, we can help you transform your office space into a cozy fall vacation where you won't want to leave at exactly 4:59. Fall is the perfect time to make your entire home cozy, and your office is no exception. Whether you're looking to spruce up a drab room in your office, add a little more personal touch to your desk, or just want to put a little more thought into your work-from-home space, here's a tried-and-true guide to Here are some methods. Tips for creating a comfortable and peaceful workplace, even if the work itself is far from calm.

lose ring light

The pandemic taught us the importance of quality lighting for Zoom calls, but it might be time to ditch the ring light and replace it with more ambient lighting. Ditch harsh blue-toned lighting and add small light fixtures that warm the entire space.

Fairy lights are a classic choice, but you can also get creative by integrating unique lighting. Create an atmospheric work environment by combining candles, small desk lamps, floor lamps, and LED strip lights. You can choose a beautiful Zoom background without too much shine. If you work in an office and have limited control over what to include, start simple. Even an unusually shaped desk lamp can add accent to a small space.

try the scent

Autumn is the perfect time to light a candle and enjoy the scents of fall. Whether you love sweet scents and reach for pumpkin spice or sugar cookie scents, or you love classic scents and tend to opt for lavender or vanilla scents, candles can instantly set the mood.

Every fall and holiday season, you can experiment with fall-scented candles, as many brands release cozy, classic candles. Try some of your favorite scents and see if they affect your work. Some scents are said to have a relaxing effect, leading to a more productive and calming environment.

Add cozy pillows and throws

Just because you work hard doesn't mean you can't be comfortable. If you're feeling a little chilly or just want to feel a warm hug while you type, bringing a soft blanket and pillow to your office can bring a whole new level of warmth and homeliness to your desk. combination of chairs.

When you work from home, you have a little more leeway to dress comfortably and be hearty, but you can also be (reasonably) cozy in the office. Just don't overdo this. If you throw too much, you might fall asleep.

wrapped in warmth

Fall is all about warm and inviting color schemes, especially deep reds, purples, greens, and earth tones. Incorporate this aesthetic into your office space to create a homely haven that feels just right. Whether it's a small piece of art, a personal memento, or color-coordinated stationery, even small pops of fall color can transform a space. If you're going all-out for fall, don't shy away from fall-inspired decor, whether it's decorating your desktop with little pumpkins or gourds or adding a little bowl of Christmas candy to share with friends. Workers, the time is now.

Beyond blankets and patterns, there are other ways to stay warm and cozy while ticking off your to-do list. If your office space gets cold, keep a small space heater or microwave-safe heating pad at your desk. Just run into the break room and you'll be warm in no time.

Create a mini drink station

If your caffeine cravings spike when the weather starts to get colder, you're not alone. When you're in work mode, nothing calms you down like a steaming cup of coffee or tea. For a uniquely welcoming workplace, consider creating a bite-sized coffee station at your desk.

With an electric kettle and French press, you can brew the perfect cup of coffee from anywhere, and keeping syrups and sweeteners on hand will make you feel like you have the coffee shop all to yourself. The next time it snows, you'll thank yourself for being able to enjoy a cozy cup of tea without leaving your desk.
