Lisenby, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, purchased the home in 2020. Texas is a private state and prices are not in public records. Over the past decade or so, she and her mother Fanny Ralston have renovated ten of her homes in what she calls her “creative” hobby.

They demolished a one-story ranch house on the property that was built in the 1990s. The new building in Hedwig Village is the first they've built from scratch.
“We saw a gap in the market, where the homes being built didn't fit into the neighborhood or lacked the feminine touch,” Lizenby said. “I have four children, ages 5 to 10, so I wanted to design a home with space for the whole family.”
Brian Bean of Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty, who listed the property on Monday, said it is the largest new home currently for sale in the Houston area. An even larger new construction project is underway in the city, measuring more than 18,000 square feet and listed for $25 million, but is expected to be completed in the spring.
“We wanted to create something special,” he said. “This is a family home for families who live full lives.”

The three-quarters-plus acre property is fenced and double gated, providing privacy features rare in the area, Beene said.
From a double kitchen and swimming pool to a motor court with valet parking, the Texas-sized home, which Bean said is the largest of any new construction listed in Memorial Village, hosts entertainment and events. is designed to.
“You can have a party for 100 people in your backyard, and you don't even have to go through the house,” Bean says. “He can accommodate up to 100 people for dinner in the foyer on the first floor.”

Homes are wired with smart systems such as lighting and security. The three-car garage has a charging station and elevator and can accommodate up to six cars.
“I designed everything with family life in mind,” Lizenby says. “Every inch of it is functional, which you don't necessarily get in spec homes. The pandemic lockdown has really opened my eyes. Homes have spaces where people can isolate, and where families can We wanted a space where kids could come together to watch movies and play. Kids ride scooters up and down the hallways, so we made the hallways wider.”

The grand entertainment area continues outdoors with a pool, spa, summer kitchen, and covered patio with fireplace.
Although the house is large, “when you walk in the front door, it feels warm, cozy, and homely,” she said.
Lisenby said if she didn't like her newly renovated house that much, she would definitely move on to a new one.
She is happy to drive by it every day. “It's a wonderful house. That's what I'm proud of.”
