AiDot, a smart home platform that connects devices across brands and ecosystems, was founded in California in 2021. The AiDot app is a central part of the platform for controlling all the smart home devices installed in your home. Control Works with AiDot devices such as lights, switches, outlets, cameras, sensors, and household appliances in your home, or create scenes and automations around your daily tasks, wherever you are.
“Works with AiDot” (WWA) is a mark of interconnectivity across different brands and categories. The AiDot app allows you to easily control your WWA labeled products. Brands participating in the AiDot ecosystem include well-known smart device brands such as Linkind, OREiN, Winees, and WELOV.
AiDot is a member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) and is currently focused on building connections between its products and other products using the Matter protocol.
Matter is a protocol standard for local smart home communications. Leverage existing technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread. Matter allows your smart home devices to work together as a single integrated system, even when the internet is out.
AiDot offers Matter-enabled smart bulbs, smart plugs, smart switches, and now the first Matter-enabled air purifier. AiDot has sold 130,000 Matter-certified bulbs to date, used by more than 50,000 users. AiDot plans to achieve full Matter compatibility for its products within 2024. AiDot's Matter-compatible products can be found on the company's website.
Version 1.2 of the Matter protocol specification was released in October 2023. This new version of the protocol includes support for home appliances, room air conditioners, robot vacuums, smoke/carbon monoxide alarms, fans, air quality sensors, and air purifiers.

Finally, AiDot has released the world's first Matter-enabled air purifier, the WELOV P200 Pro.
AiDot P200 Pro Air Purifier
The P200 Pro Air Purifier is equipped with 3-stage filtration technology, with a pre-filter to capture hair and large particles, an H13 True HEPA filter to remove pollen, smoke, and other small particles, and an activated carbon filter to remove volatile particles. Removes organic compounds (VOCs) and odors.
The P200 Pro can purify the air in a 315 square foot room in just 12 minutes and can purify the air in a 1,570 square foot room in less than an hour. Additionally, indoor environments containing PM2.5 particles can be monitored in real time. PM2.5 particles have a diameter of 2.5 micrometers, which is less than 1/30th the diameter of a human hair.
An advanced feature of the P200 Pro is its sleep mode. By default, this mode runs the fan speed at its lowest level to minimize noise in your bedroom. However, the AiDot app allows you to link the unit with Apple Health, allowing it to automatically adjust the purifier's settings depending on the homeowner's sleep stage. This can improve air quality in the bedroom when homeowners are experiencing deeper sleep and REM sleep and therefore higher fan speeds are less of a hindrance.
Three different filters are available on the P200 Pro.
Standard Filter – This filter is great at capturing common airborne pollutants and allergens. Effective in neutralizing smoke and removing unwanted gases (VOCs).
Pet Care Filter – This filter is enhanced for pet care. Specially designed to capture pet dander, hair, pollen, pet odors, and other allergens.
Toxin Absorption Filter – This filter contains twice as much activated carbon as a standard filter. Tailored for newly built homes where formaldehyde is a concern. Excellent at neutralizing toxins, wildfire smoke, VOCs, and other polluting gases.
Benefits of substance and integration
Matter's goal is to provide a standard way to integrate products from different manufacturers and allow them to work together in a smart home. Integration offers many interesting benefits. For example, smart lighting, appliances connected to smart plugs, and smart air purifiers can all be turned off when no one is home to save energy. This will also extend the life of your air purifier's filter.
When homeowners go to bed, they can turn off smart lights and appliances connected to smart plugs, or automatically set smart air purifiers to sleep mode and trigger a good night macro. Smart lights can also turn on slowly in the morning, just before your alarm clock “goes” to simulate sunrise and more naturally reduce the amount of sleep hormones in your body.
Color-changing smart light bulbs can be synchronized with the sun's changing colors throughout the day to support a homeowner's circadian rhythm. A routine to do this is also built into his AiDot app.
Color-changing smart light bulbs can be used to inform homeowners about the air quality in their home. Green if the air quality is good, red if the air quality is poor, etc. This is a much easier metric to quickly check your air quality than pulling out your smartphone to check information or walking across the room to look at the display. on the purifier. It's also especially helpful for people with hearing loss who don't realize that when the air purifier is in automatic mode, it senses poor air quality and the air purifier automatically changes to a higher fan speed.
Try using AiDot's Matter compatible products
Integrating AiDot's Matter compatible devices into your smart home is very easy. However, to achieve this, you need a Matter-compatible ecosystem such as Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. Only certain hubs from these manufacturers support Matter, so you'll need to check the manufacturer's website to see if your device supports Matter.
This article used a Matter-compatible 3rd generation Apple TV 4K and the associated Apple Home app.
To add a Matter-compatible device to Apple Home, first select Add New Device in the Apple Home app. Then, just scan the QR code on your AiDot device. That's enough.
These devices can be connected individually to the AiDot app, which can be downloaded using the QR code in the installation manual. The AiDot App may provide more granular control over your device than that exposed through Matter. It is also a valuable tool for validating that your device is working properly if there are issues with the Matter ecosystem.
We found that in some cases, the process of adding devices directly to Apple Home through Matter can be a little difficult. In my experiments, I've found it more reliable to first add the device to the AiDot app and then proceed to the process of adding it to Apple Home.
Additionally, I wanted to use these devices with my Matter-compatible Hubitat Elevation hub. To link devices to the hub, I followed the steps outlined in the article Integrating Matter-compatible devices with your Crestron smart home. Again, this should only take a few minutes to complete.
AiDot tests all Matter-compatible products using the leading Matter ecosystem, including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. In my own testing, including a Matter-compatible Hubitat Elevation C-8 hub, I found that both AiDot/LinKind RGBTW, WiFi smart bulbs, and AiDot/LinKind smart plugs work perfectly with both Apple Home and Hubitat . The AiDot/LinKind smart dimmer switch worked perfectly with Apple Home, but with Hubitat it only works as a smart switch, not a smart dimmer. We have reported this issue to Hubitat and are working to resolve the issue.
Finally, I discovered that Apple Home does not yet support Matter 1.2 compatible air purifiers, including the AiDot P200 Pro. According to AiDot, this also applies to SmartThings and Google Home. All these platforms are tackling this issue. According to AiDot, SmartThings will release support on other platforms in early June and plans to add support thereafter.
The AiDot P200 Pro Air Purifier, on the other hand, can be fully controlled using the AiDot app. This app gives you complete control over all the features of your air purifier and the ability to create automation and schedules.
The automations you can create using the AiDot app are very useful. The air quality monitor built into the purifier works even when the purifier itself is powered off, so you can turn on the purifier when the indoor air quality is poor and when the air quality improves. You can create an automation to turn off the purifier. This can save energy and extend the life of your purifier's filter.
You can create schedules to turn the purifier on and off at specific times, as well as set the purifier mode and fan speed. So, you can turn on the purifier automatically in sleep mode at night and in automatic mode during the day.
You can also create scenes, which are automations that work on multiple devices simultaneously. For example, you can adjust multiple smart lights to a dim level for watching movies, or automatically turn on lights and appliances (connected to a smart plug) at sunset.
All of the above can be done very easily using the AiDot app and I found it very easy to use.
AiDot products are available on the company's website or on Amazon. Amazon hosts stores for various brands such as Linkind, OREiN, Winees, ENHULK, and his WELOV store, which sells P200 Pro air purifiers.
Summary and conclusion
I've heard many “naysayers” online who say they don't believe the Matter Protocol will be successful. They are being proven wrong. The Matter Protocol specification is in its third release and more and more products are including support for the Matter Protocol. These include not only announced products, but also products available for purchase.
Matter is not perfect. It's still a mature standard. But I think it will get better and better over time. The AiDot P200 Pro air purifier support issue is a good example of this, as is his AiDot/LinKind dimmer switch control issue using a Hubitat hub.
Unlike AiDot, there are also several examples of companies that have not successfully implemented Matter into their products. These have also been covered in the press.
AiDot is a leader in releasing a wide selection of different products including Matter support. The company's products work well and are competitively priced compared to similar products from other manufacturers that have not started adopting Matter.
