Humanity's need to continually improve their living environment has inspired cutting-edge technological advances within the home.
We visit a dream home in the upscale Ironshore neighborhood of Montego Bay that, through the magic of revolutionary electronics, is tenaciously tapping into a future that's already here: the world of tomorrow.
This is a highly intelligent home, known in the field of home automation as a “smart house.” At night, the exterior comes alive with a mesmerizing spectacle of LED color-changing lights, accenting the façade with a shimmering glow. The rear saltwater pool also glows with color-changing lighting, casting a range of sparkling hues. Inside, the twisting floating staircase with glass balustrade is fully illuminated. These lights, and all other main lights throughout the solar-powered home, are programmed to be controlled remotely from anywhere with your mobile phone.
Main doors and locks (including double garage doors) and gates, security cameras throughout the pool pump, and even an independent internet service (No Flow or Digicel) are all automatically monitored and remotely managed by your mobile phone. This foundation-shaking home doesn't disappoint with voice-activated technology – control your gadgets and appliances just by talking.
The home was designed and built by its owner, electrician and architect Chris Anon. Anon was once married but is now single and likes to keep everything neat and tidy. The massive 15,700 square feet, with 30-foot ceilings and four floors, features 13 bedrooms and 15½ bathrooms. A foyer, large living room, two more living areas, family and dining spaces, and an island kitchen are integrated with a game room, massage room, and wet bar. Continuous balconies and verandas with glass railings allow the interior spaces to breathe and the ocean views beyond.
The doors and windows are bulletproof and were imported from Germany. The floors are porcelain and vinyl tiled. The master bathroom features double vanities, marble and metal cabinetry, a glass window whirlpool tub with TV and radio and a walk-in shower. The bedhead is from Italy and the most comfortable mattress was imported from Canada.
A home that surprises, intrigues and is easy to live in… making life more beautiful, harmonious and fulfilling.
