DIY a beautiful orb light using a few inexpensive Dollar Tree items and some glue

Before you get started on this beautiful DIY that will brighten up your backyard patio on summer evenings, you'll need to go shopping. The easiest part of this DIY to get hold of is the vase. Dollar Tree has just one clear round glass vase. Also, pick out some accent jewelry while you're at Dollar Tree. The mixed 14-ounce bags come in your choice of Floral Garden (blue, aqua, green, and clear) or Aqua Mist (aqua and white with a matte finish). Prefer a uniform hue? Then consider the Ocean Blue and Ombre mixed glass bags.

If you're feeling ambitious, you could even buy materials for three interlocking but slightly different spherical lights that come together in the center of the table, following the design “rule of three”: cover a small, medium, and large vase (Amazon has fishbowl-style vases in a variety of sizes), each with a different colored pack of glass pebbles from Dollar Tree.

You'll also need a plate to place under the upturned vase, whether it's a small ceramic serving dish from a thrift store, this galvanized metal bottle cap wall decor from Dollar Tree (just remove the strings), or a wooden circle, such as this 6.5-inch round wooden shape from Hobby Lobby for under $3. Make sure the diameter of the disk is a little larger than the diameter of the mouth of the vase; this option from Dollar Tree is about 5 inches.
