Mirrors aren't always the most attractive part of wall decor. After all, all a mirror really does, aside from the frame, is reflect everything else in the space. But there's a new mirror trend I'm noticing that takes mirrors to a new level of wall design.
Colored mirrors are really gaining popularity. “If you want to see the world through rose-colored glasses, a colored mirror may be the best option,” says Bethany Adams of Bethany Adams Interiors. “Like traditional mirrors, they have the ability to reflect light into a space and beautify your walls, but today's colored mirrors add a fun element to a space.”
This is a trend that currently exists primarily in the realm of luxury interiors, but could be the next big trend that filters into more affordable stores as well. Here are some of my favorite examples of this interior design trend, as well as shopping tips on the best ways to introduce the colored mirror look into your home.
Why are colored mirrors becoming a trend?

Designers and homeowners are increasingly looking for playful and unique ways to add color to their interiors. Apart from the traditional method of adding color with paints, decoration has become popular with colorful expressions, and designers are subverting decorative works by bringing color into unexpected pieces.
They can reflect color and light, give a room a filtered finish and warmth, give a vintage jewelry-box charm, and add a touch of interest.
Studio Sabine Marcelis is one of the designers living and working in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She created a beautiful array of irregularly shaped mirrors in different gradients of ombre color. From faded blues to shades of orange, these bring bold color and personality to a room and are a great way to decorate white walls.
“Transparent, reflective and colored materials are eye-catching and have a magical element,” says Sabine. “We see many designers focusing on these qualities and effects. Having worked with colored mirrors for over 10 years, colored mirrors have yet to lose their appeal for me. .”
“The sun's reflections and artificial light provide different moments throughout the day,” Sabine added. “I love working with warm colors because they have a huge impact on the experience of a space.”
What colors are best for colored mirrors?

This elegant apartment designed by Maddux Creative uses varying shades of rust brown throughout the rooms. The color spectrum culminates in mirrors, which range from reddish-brown to transparent, making for dramatic centerpieces and adding color to walls.
The mirrors also serve as a reflection of the home's history, located on the second floor of an Art Deco apartment built in the 1920s.
While bringing vintage charm to the space, the mobile-like light fixture in the center of the room also gives the space the look of a solar system. It combines traditional and contemporary atmosphere in a calming atmosphere.
This rusty red color makes a great color mirror. When in doubt, warm shades of orange, pink, and red add warmth to a space and are perfect for warming up stark white walls.
“I would choose a pink mirror,” says Bethany Adams of Bethany Adams Interiors. Pink mirrors bring warmth and a rosy glow.

I really like the pale green color of this mirror, which gives it a jewel-like look. It is a piece that still casts a reflection while creating an attractive decorative piece that is perfect for any room in the house.

Designed by Giovanni Botticelli, this mirror uses both colored matte and reflective glass to create an artistic colored mirror. There is also a peach orange, but I prefer this uplifting and warm blue tone.
How to decorate walls with colored mirrors

Consider the colored mirror trend instead of wall art. While it is practical, it also provides the interest of art and sculpture. In functional rooms where morning routines take place, such as the bathroom, you may want to have a mirror that accurately reflects natural light, while mantels and entryways are both ideal for placing colorful items. It's the perfect place. mirror.
You might also want a colored mirror in a room that calls for warm tones or a pop of color, like this design by New York-based design firm New Design Project. The mirrors created by Zieta Studio add a little color to a monochrome mirror. room.

The tinted glass look can also be achieved in other ways. From small decorative pieces scattered around the house (look for the trendy Murano in the shape of glass jars, vases, and bowls) to large glass items such as windows and doors.
Designer Piero Lissoni of Glas Italia took it to another level with the Scherazade patchwork door. This door also exists in retractable or hinged versions or as a partition wall.
“The beauty of this multicolored version is that the overlapping panels create a very special color effect,” says Annina Preda of Glas Italia. “Transparent color panels add color to the natural light and create atmosphere and atmosphere in the room.”
