CENTENNIAL, CO / ACCESSWIRE / May 16, 2024 / Arrow Electronics is collaborating with Resideo Technologies to bring the benefits of smart home technology to the communities built by Habitat for Humanity in metro Denver. The new Mountain View Community Home in Aurora, Colorado provides residents with safer, more convenient, and more comfortable housing, while also helping to reduce energy and living costs.
Habitat builds more than 11 million affordable homes annually around the world for a diverse group of first-time homeowners. Mountain View is the nonprofit's first demonstration of an integrated smart home solution.
Arrow and Resideo are working together to equip each home in the Mountain View community with a suite of smart home products. It is an internet-connected device that allows consumers to monitor and remotely control systems such as security, water, heating, and cooling. This smart home is designed to avoid increasing the cost of building a home and incur no additional costs to new homeowners.
This bundle includes products from Resideo's First Alert® and Honeywell Home brands. This includes the ENERGY STAR-certified Honeywell Home smart thermostat, which allows residents to remotely adjust temperatures via a smartphone app and set schedules to stay comfortable when at home and save energy when away. You can do that. Air treatment systems that create more energy-efficient homes and improve air quality by reducing odors, mold spores, and airborne bacteria. First Alert video doorbells and outdoor security cameras allow residents to keep an eye on visitors and monitor security while they're away. The First Alert water leak detection system can send email or mobile alerts when a water leak occurs and automatically shut off the water source to prevent catastrophic water damage.

The Mountain View community features 20 three- and four-bedroom homes with one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half bathrooms. Habitat expects homeowners to begin moving into the new communities in early 2025.
