The winter market season kicks off annually at AmericasMart's Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, and our team was on the grounds today ready to check out new products and what manufacturers have in store for the future.
From the get-go, wall art stood out. Manufacturers collaborated with artists to go beyond typical prints to showcase new and unique artworks. Of all the styles, abstract pieces stood out the most. Here's what we saw, and what you should see too.
Stylecraft Home Collection
Over the past few market cycles, StyleCraft has invested more into its artwork offerings, targeting interior designers and collaborating with artists. Last year, the company introduced a series of vibrant abstract paintings by Monica Janes (pictured left). Each canvas was an explosion of color, and the pieces were so well-received that StyleCraft launched several new pieces at AmericasMart Atlanta.
Additionally, StyleCraft has released new prints from designer Austin Allen James. These abstract watercolors are printed on high-quality paper and framed for protection.
Celadon art
With its new showroom opening at AmericasMart, Celadon had a lot of ground to cover, especially with the company releasing so many new prints in each market.
Coastal continues to be a popular category for the company, and this small abstract print looks like waves crashing on the shore, with the added white texture giving it a 3D-like effect.
Howard Elliott
Howard Elliott knows the market well: in Atlanta and High Point, North Carolina, most buyers prefer traditional or transitional designs, while on the West Coast in Las Vegas, buyers can't get enough of the contemporary look. But in this Atlanta market, Howard Elliott decided to try and experiment with something a little different.
Check out these abstract canvases – each one is hand-painted so no two are alike. Behind the canvas hangs a paint-splattered tarp, and on the wall to the left of the painting is a shelf filled with fake paint drips and brushes. The aim is to make it look like the artist is still working, and the effect is pretty impressive.
Bonus: Abstract painting on the floor
It's no surprise that abstracts remain popular on floors. At Nourison, pink accents are mixed with blues and reds. At Jaipur Living showroom, abstracts get a little pixelated. At the new Micah, bright oranges mix with muted pastels for a fun combination.
