Song Yu-heeum is the ultimate minimalist.
Apart from a cat bed, some lights and flowers, Song's apartment, which she shares with her minimalist sister, perfectly mimics her sister's commitment to a minimalist lifestyle – and, of course, there's no furniture whatsoever.
“My space is filled with things that are more nourishing and nurturing to me, instead of furniture that restricts me from moving around freely,” she told AOL Lifestyle.
Song's journey toward a less-is-more lifestyle began after she realized her shopping addiction was damaging. She began her journey by reading Marie Kondo's hit book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up ($7.70, Amazon), which taught her about cultivating happiness instead of increasing possessions.
For my son, that also meant using a simple hammock as a bed.
“I don't believe anyone has to eliminate furniture from their life to find happiness or cultivate mindfulness,” she concludes. “My measure of abundance is focusing on what I really, really want…”
