Following the theme of “Redefining Luxury,” Sapphire Homes designed the home to show potential buyers how high-tech enhancements can automate and streamline everyday household chores while allowing for greater enjoyment and future preparation.
Central to the experience within the Cameron model home is the Control4 smart home system to which all of the home's technology is connected, allowing Sapphire to individually highlight all technological aspects of the home as customers move through the model home, while also showcasing the customized control scheme developed by Intellitech Systems.
“For The Cameron, we created many custom scenes including 'Dinner Party,' which plays your favorite Frank Sinatra playlist through the entire home audio system while turning on specific light fixtures at specific levels; 'Movie Night,' which automates the home theater's ambient lighting, turns on the projector and launches Netflix at a pre-set volume; and 'Goodbye,' which turns off all interior lights, closes blinds and shades, locks doors and sets the alarm,” Najjar added.

“This has been an eye-opening experience for many customers, demonstrating the power and value of these technologies in simplifying everyday life and adding enjoyment to their home spaces.”
Araknis and Control4 backbone powers the demo
The home's technology backbone is a professional Araknis network solution with Wi-Fi 6 access points supporting all of the above systems, as well as a Luma security and surveillance system, two Control4 video doorbells, two Kwikset electronic door locks, six HVAC zones with Control4 thermostats, and Lutron motorized window shades on all windows.
In addition to a TV remote and Control4 mobile app, the home also features multiple Control4 touchscreens on the walls and a Control4 backlit illuminated keypad, giving users convenient control access wherever they are.

The home also features 15 audio zones of Triad in-ceiling speakers, 14 video zones with intuitive control via the dedicated Control4 Halo and SR260 remotes, a 7.4.2 Atmos surround sound home theatre system with Triad Gold speakers and Control4's LED-based Vibrant Linear Lighting system with full-colour RGBW capability.
Outside, the audio and video zones are expanded with Episode outdoor speakers and Sunbrite outdoor TVs, all connected to a Control4 system.
Communicate the benefits of smart home technology to potential buyers
The tour is intended to highlight the benefits of each system, but the primary goal is to help potential buyers decide which system offers the best value.

Visitors will be shown how to control all the lighting in their home at once, how to remotely view live feeds from security cameras and how to easily change the ambience of rooms and zones, including TV, music, colour-adjustable lighting, climate and window blinds.
“Homebuyers rarely have in-depth knowledge of all the elements needed to achieve their desired living experience, which is why it's important for us and Sapphire Homes to showcase the possibilities and options before buyers make a final decision about their new home,” said Chadi Shaya, Owner, IntelliTech Systems.
“At Cameron, we had the opportunity to showcase all that Snap One's vast catalog of technology has to offer, from whole-home AV distribution and state-of-the-art home theater, to color LED lighting, security, surveillance and networking equipment, video doorbells, electronic door locks, thermostats, window blinds and even mobile device control for garage doors.”

As part of the proactive education process, Shaya says Intellitech provides prospective homebuyers with a two-page automation and AV checklist to help them better understand their priorities and decide which smart home solutions they want to introduce to their customers.
“Our goal with the Cameron Model Home is to elicit a sense of wonder and awe, and the Snap One solution's superior performance has led 70-80 percent of buyers to add the Control4 system with its various levels of integration and peripheral systems,” says Shaya. “All in all, the experience truly redefines luxury.”
