MENA consumers are keen to create a personalized atmosphere whilst optimising technology and energy usage.
Mohammad Meraj Hoda, vice president of emerging markets at Ring.
“Smart homes are transforming traditional living spaces in the Middle East, and we are committed to helping homeowners in the region embrace this ongoing transformation, leveraging technology to add convenience,” said Mohammad Meraj Hoda, vice president of emerging markets at Ring.
Led by countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, the GCC smart home market has significant growth potential: Saudi Arabia's smart home market revenue is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2024-2028) of 10.96% and the UAE's at 10.49%.
Factors such as increasing customer awareness around sustainability and convenience are driving expansion in the region, with exciting smart home projects already underway that focus on leveraging technology to improve quality of life.
Ring provides convenience and efficiency to families and homeowners. Smart home technology is evolving to meet changing customer needs and busy lifestyles, which motivates the brand's team, from design to engineering, to continue innovating for homeowners in the Middle East.
“We recently launched the latest version of our video doorbell, the Battery Video Doorbell Pro, in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. With advanced features and superior image quality, it redefines the standard for battery-powered doorbells and offers even more flexibility and versatility to our customers,” said Hoda.
“We value customer feedback to meet local needs and preferences and give them the tools they want to make their daily lives easier and safer. Our goal is to help homeowners protect what matters most by making it easy to keep an eye on their loved ones, pets and property.”
Ring's video doorbell features, such as Package Alerts (available with a Ring Protect Basic or Plus subscription), help customers keep an eye on deliveries to their doorstep by notifying them when a package is detected in a designated package zone.
Additionally, Live View allows customers to keep an eye on their property by receiving real-time notifications on their phone or tablet when the video doorbell is pressed or motion is detected by their Ring device.
The two-way communication capabilities of our security cameras and video doorbells allow you to check in on your loved ones while you're away, and you can easily communicate with your package deliverers to let them know where to leave your packages when you're not at home.
Homeowners can stay connected to their homes while enjoying their vacations. Ring Alarm offers an extra layer of protection that homeowners can set up for maximum security while on vacation. These alarms come with motion detectors that can be mounted on flat walls and corners, ensuring no space is left unattended. They can be synced with other Ring devices, including video doorbells and indoor and outdoor security cameras within the Ring app. When the alarm goes off, all Ring cameras automatically start recording (if you have a Ring Protect plan), even if they don't detect motion.
When the alarm sensor goes off, customers receive real-time notifications on their smartphones. If Ring Alarm detects a problem and a customer receives an alert, they can easily see what's happening through the Ring camera on the app and see if it's simply a package delivery or a neighbor passing by.
The Ring app also allows customers to customize their system to fit their daily needs, including turning their Ring Alarm on and off remotely and setting schedules for when the alarm should turn on and off.
Ring Alarm also works with select Alexa-enabled devices, allowing users to turn their alarm on/off and check its status with simple voice commands.
Homeowners can review past events on their Ring devices with a subscription to the Ring Protect plan. Ring Protect subscriptions come in two levels, Basic and Plus, and all events captured by Ring devices are recorded and stored in the cloud, allowing customers to store, share and download video recordings of detected events to their account for up to 180 days.
Customers can easily scroll through the timeline to see any moments they missed throughout the day, and if you don't subscribe to a Ring Protect plan, you'll still receive real-time notifications when motion is detected and can see a live view of the device through the Ring app, but you won't have access to video recordings of those events.
“Our devices can be set up, linked and managed in minutes through the Ring app on their smartphone, giving homeowners real-time access and control wherever they are,” Hoda concluded.
