Step inside Kim Kardashian's “minimalist convent.”
The billionaire reality TV star purchased the sprawling Los Angeles mansion, which was renovated by Belgian designer Axel Vervoort, for a reported $20 million in 2014.
She and ex-husband Kanye West made numerous renovations to the notoriously minimalist home they bought together.
When the former couple split in 2021, Kardashian was able to keep the house.

Their four young children, North, Saint, Chicago and Sarm, all grew up on the property, but their oldest daughter doesn't like the house very much.
“Whenever I have a disagreement with my daughter North, she takes it as a dig at me and says, 'Your house is so ugly. It's all white. Does anyone live in a house like that?'” Kardashian revealed during the “Confessions of a Mom” segment of The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2021.
Read on for everything you need to know about the house.
Minimalist design
When guests enter the home, they enter through an empty foyer.
Kardashian opted for a very simple design throughout the home, including the furniture.
“Well, I run around the house with towels,” the Skims founder told Architectural Digest in January 2018, when asked how she keeps her cream-colored home so clean.
“You have to take a deep breath and say, 'OK, this is what's going to happen. I'm going to go with bright colors,'” she continued.
“We just moved into a house that was all grey, and we were looking to move into a lighter colored house, so it was a good test.”
All of the home's finishes are in neutral tones.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star said that “everything in[her]house is really minimal,” and there's a reason for that.
“There's a lot of chaos in the world, so when I get home I want it to be really quiet and for everything to feel calm,” she told Vogue during a February 2022 house tour.
After seeing some of Vervoort's previous work, she asked him to design her house.
“There's so much chaos in the world, so when I get home I want it to be really quiet,” she previously told Vogue.
“When I saw the work he was doing, I thought, 'This guy could design Batman's house' and I had to work with him,” she revealed.
Over the years, the fashion icon has shared several glimpses of her home, which often features empty foyers, long hallways, and monochromatic finishes.
Chaotic playroom
The mother of four said she lets her kids run wild in the playroom.
One of these is different from the others.
Kardashian revealed that her kids have a massive playroom that bears little resemblance to the beige room just outside.
“People always say my house is minimal, but they've never seen my playroom,” she said on Instagram Live in February 2020.
Christmas decorations
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star raises the bar every year with her unique Christmas decorations, which usually include trees lining her hallways throughout December. Instagram/kimkardashian The Skims founder frequently gives fans a peek at her holiday decor on social media.
The holiday season is one of Kardashian's favorite times of the year, so it's no surprise that she goes all out with her decorations.
With white décor prominent throughout the home, the former “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star decided to spray paint the tree white and add white lights.
The décor extends to the entrance hall, where she's assembled a forest of abstract “trees” that are “very whimsical, like Whoville, but all white,” she said during a 2019 decorating tour.
Security measures

It's no surprise that the Kardashians take security very seriously.
The writer, who profiled the mother-of-four for Vogue's May 2019 cover story, revealed some intriguing details about what measures are being taken to keep the Kardashian household safe.
“I had to go through multiple layers of Pentagon-level security, hesitated at the intimidating front door that seemed to be lowered over a moat, and then decided like any other person to go around the side and enter through the garage,” author Jonathan Van Meter wrote after visiting her enormous home.
He said a “24-hour manned security pod” had been installed in the garage as a precautionary measure.
unique bathroom designs
The beauty mogul has also shared a few glimpses inside her unique bathroom.
Her square tub is “perfect for all of[her]kids” and is concrete-colored with sharp corners and smooth lines.

The shower is equally strange, featuring a showerhead that takes up the entire length of the wall and is enclosed in a giant glass cage.
As for the basin-less wonder sink, designer Vervoort and architect Claudio Silvestrin went through eight different prototypes for people to wash their hands before creating the distinctive sink.
“You can use all the pressure you want and there's no splattering,” Kardashian marveled.
