The new year is upon us, and so is Fox's newest game show, “The Floor.” This is more than just a game show. This is a trivia extravaganza that challenges contestants like never before.
Dust off your encyclopedia and get ready. This is a show you don't want to miss.
Rob Lowe: “Our first duelist, please step up!”
Cutie Rob Lowe is the host and producer of Fox's new game show, “The Floor.” This is a trivia contest where 81 contestants stand on his 81 squares and test their knowledge.
Rob Lowe: “Each square is an area of trivia expertise, so there are 81 categories, so think of it as checkers or chess, but you move the pieces by answering trivia questions. It’s a turf war, it’s a strategy.”
What about the grand prize? $250,000.
Contestant 1: “Come on, give it a try.”
Contestant 2: “I came here to make money.”
Contestant 3: “$250,000?!”
It was easy for the actor to accept the role of host.
Rob Lowe: “At the end of the day, it's trivia and that's what I love. I love Trivial Pursuit, I love games like that, and this is one of the best games I've ever seen. It's the best game. It allows me to do very specific things that I want to do. It's unscripted, improvisational, and hopefully funny, with people. And of course there's the gaming part, because I love gaming.”
Lowe says he feels like a coach too.
Rob Lowe: “It really kills me when they're not doing well. It kills me. Like, I'm so invested.”
Rob is really looking forward to viewers checking out the debut season and seeing who remains on “The Floor.”
Rob Lowe: “We had 81 contestants over 10 weeks. At the end, only one contestant would be left on the floor and they would walk away with $250,000.”
Rob Lowe: “Let’s light it up!”
