Have a sleigh Christmas this Christmas with a DIY succulent wreath.
Instead of a traditional wreath made from pine or holly, this DIY succulent wreath is eco-friendly, colorful, and sure to brighten up your season and your Instagram feed.
We created this piece ourselves in collaboration with GMA art director Meg Domlo. Check out the detailed steps below and do it yourself.
How to make a succulent wreath
what you need

greening pin
50-100 succulents
chopsticks
Preparing the wreath
A DIY succulent wreath is literally the gift that keeps on giving, but to keep it as healthy as possible, you should soak your moss wreath in water before displaying it.
Leave the cut for 5 to 7 days for the stem to recover. This will ensure that the stems are rooted when you attach them.
Step 1: Arrange your succulents
Plan your design by placing succulents around the wreath. You can arrange them according to the color and size of your succulents.
Step 2: Remove leaves
Remove the leaves to expose the stems for easy placement in wreaths.
Step 3: Create a hole in the wreath.
Use a chopstick to make holes in the wreath for the succulent cuttings. You can also use scissors or a dowel to cut holes in the wreath.
Step 4: Insert the stem into the hole.
Step 5: Protect your plant
Secure the succulent cuttings in place with greening pins. You can also use bobby pins or hair roller wire to secure the plants.
