It's easy to get caught up in the idea that “more is better,” but minimalists know that you don't need a ton of stuff to make your space look beautiful. All you need is the right one. This is the spirit behind West Elm's latest designer collaboration with him. The furniture and home décor brand has teamed up with Brooklyn-based interior designer Billy Cotton to launch a capsule collection filled with useful yet well-designed objects. “We approached the design of 25 items that people interact with every day, from beds to highly-touched objects like cereal bowls and dining chairs, aiming to combine beauty and practicality. “I did,” Cotton said.
All of these pieces aim to enhance the everyday, providing homeowners with items that are essentially functional works of art. Some of these objects tend to be hidden away in your home (how much have you thought about coasters?), but it's time to finally give these often-neglected items a little more love. I'm happy to be able to do this. Check out some of our favorites below. You may find inspiration to upgrade the products you use every day in your home.
