The countryside is musical. Here the land undulates, dropping into wooded valleys and then cresting into grassy knolls that reach skyward. But unlike the upbeat melodies of nearby Nashville, about 30 miles to the northeast, Leipers' rhythms in his folk region are a little more relaxed, with honky-tonk tunes and neon lights outshining birdsong and starry skies. It's been put on the back burner. In other words, it was the perfect choice for his 2023 Idea House, a reimagined farmhouse that respects the surrounding environment and encourages gracious hospitality.
