We work from home and wish we could work from these homes
It's no exaggeration to say that the scope of what constitutes a home office space has expanded. Dining tables, sofas, and even beds (don't judge) have all replaced the usual workplace swivel chairs and desks. Who would have thought that these “office” spaces would require everyone to self-isolate? – But now that working from home has become the norm for many of us, we want to get back to basics, albeit in some style. Here are four of our favorite real-world home office ideas.

great indoor
Two architects with an affinity for the outdoors blurred the lines between interior and exterior when designing and building the Trinity Bellwoods home. The home office space is neatly arranged under two skylights, providing plenty of natural light and, importantly, plenty of functional space to stretch your legs and get some work done. best of both worlds
Shared by academics and entrepreneurs, this back-to-back coworking space features mahogany-framed glass walls (made by Bauhaus) so parents can watch their children play in the garden. Matching a walnut desk and shelves can cause some serious mental labor, as things stay neat and tidy and are mounted on opposite walls. See here for the complete setup.

midcentury takeover
Part of an investment property reno that once completed will become the primary residence, this home office space includes an Eames desk and chair (by Herman Miller), vintage teak shelving (by Filter), and Muuto fixtures (by YLighting). . Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors (Kolbe windows), you can also enjoy the spectacular views. See the complete build here.
About milling
White oak and cherry woodwork both influence the look and feel of an old-school den, but this architect-designed PLANT is overseen by a Foscarini Gregg pendant and a &Tradition Palette desk. The space is a perfect balance of traditional and modern influences. See the complete home here.
