TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A local organization that helps homeless veterans has some good news.
The Loyal Veterans Battalion hosted a housewarming party for new residents who moved into the organization's transitional housing in Terre Haute.
People brought different types of food and goods to get off to a good start. Currently, three homeless veterans have moved into a house built four years ago.
They can live there without paying rent and only have to pay utility bills.
LVB Chairman Michael Ezzie said: “It's just been an amazing experience. Seeing our veterans continue to grow after they leave here is exactly what we wanted. It’s a hand up, not a hand out.” .
Eggy says this will help veterans returning from military service, whether they're struggling with PTSD, drugs or homelessness.
