According to Vicki, felting gives her a creative outlet. “I'm always full of ideas for what to make next,” she told Bored Panda.
“Something about this particular art form spoke to me and made sense. I started in late 2021 after seeing some felt work on social media and ordering an inexpensive starter kit online. From there, I watched a lot of YouTube videos, bought some books, and went from there.'' One of the channels she recommends for beginners is Felts by Philipa and Lionsgate Farm.
“I'm not a big fan of following tutorials directly, but they are a great way to learn new skills that you can use in your own creations. If you're new to felt making, you can choose between following instructions or experimenting on your own. Regardless, the best way to learn is by doing. The process of needle felting is very relaxing and meditative, and it also produces soothing ASMR sounds.”
