heart-shaped cookie cutter wind chime
Ian Palmer
Transform a rustic cookie cutter into a cheerful wind chime perfect for hanging above your bed or on your front porch.
Directions: Create a heart shape from a 10- to 12-inch length of wire. Wrap it in red twine and set it aside. Make a clay heart using oven-baked modeling clay. Before baking, cut a hole in the top for hanging, write a phrase (if desired) and set aside. Cut holes in the bends and tips of three heart-shaped cookie cutters: large, medium, and small. Cut the twine into three lengths. Working in one length at a time, he threads the large, medium, and small cookie cutters through the twine, tying a knot at the top and bottom of each cutter to keep it in place. Repeat with the remaining twine and cookie cutter. Wrap a length of twine around the wire heart (making sure the heart is facing the correct direction). Gather the lengths of string at the top, tie a knot, and hang. Tie the length of the string at the bottom and trim. Thread a short piece of twine through the ceramic heart and tie a knot at the bottom of the wine chime to hang it.
