DIY toy drum ornaments
Hmm
Thanks to this tutorial, your everyday toilet paper rolls will look better than ever. To make these toy drum ornaments, cut a toilet paper roll with scissors to approximately 1.5″ to 2″ tall. Next, paint the outside with acrylic paint and let it dry. Cut two circles of kraft paper to match the opening of the roll and attach them with hot glue. If desired, add any desired details to the sides of the drum, such as applying washi tape or ribbon with thin lines of hot glue to create a cross pattern. Attach washi tape, ribbon, craft paper, etc. to the top and bottom of the “taiko'' to draw clean straight lines. Add a loop of ribbon with hot glue dots on the side to hang the small drum on the tree.

Four
starburst ornaments and tree toppers
Hmm
With this DIY craft, you can easily use toilet paper rolls and scraps of leftover wrapping paper to design decorations and tree toppers. First, paint a contrasting color on the inside and outside of the toilet paper roll and let it dry completely. Measure 2 inches from the bottom of the roll and mark all the way around, then turn the roll over and measure 2 inches from the bottom and mark all the way around, marking a 1/2 inch wide gap in the center of the roll. 3. Starting at one end, cut 8 evenly spaced lines, stopping at the 2-inch mark you made. Flip the tube and repeat step 3 on the other side. Fold the cut part to one side and cut the rectangle into dots with scissors. Repeat step 5 on the other side. Complete the star by flattening the fold to make sure it stays in place. You can add ribbon to hang the ornament on your tree or use it as a tree topper during the Christmas season.

Five
animal/family ornaments
Hmm
Your furry friends deserve a spot in the tree, too. Start making your purring ornament by wrapping the pipe cleaners around the small ornament (use hot glue if you like). Fold the pipe cleaner in half to create small legs. Add another set of legs and a tail by twisting the pipe cleaners wrapped around the ornament to secure them, or by adding small dots of hot glue and cutting small sections of the pipe cleaners. Then use hot glue to add your printed pet's face or other small embellishments. Attach a string with hot glue to complete the ornament.

DIY upcycled wallpaper ornaments
Hmm
Use old wallpaper scraps or buy your own pack to create these unique decorations. Cut the wallpaper into nine 0.5” x 10” strips. Drill 3 holes in each strip (top, middle, and bottom). Thread the wooden beads onto 10-inch flower wire and secure by wrapping the wire around them. Then add a piece of paper to the wire through the center hole. Thread both ends of the bottom strip through the wire. Move each strip clockwise repeatedly until all ends are on the wire. Add another wooden bead to create a loop of wire and wrap it around to secure. Tie a ribbon at the top and hang it.

pine cone swan ornament
Hmm
Bring “Seven Swans” from the iconic “Twelve Days of Christmas” song to life with this easy tutorial. Paint the mini pine cones white and let dry completely. Wrap the ends of the white pipe cleaners together to create a small swan head. Cut the pipe cleaner about 1 inch below the head you created and attach it to one end of the pine cone with a dot of hot glue to create the swan's neck and head. Cut small triangles from gold craft paper and attach them to the sides of the pipe cleaner head to create the beak. He cuts two small wing shapes out of felt and hot glues them to the sides of the pine cone to create the wings. Create a decoration by attaching a loop of string to the swan and display it proudly on your tree.

biodegradable wreath
Hmm
Biodegradable and compostable, these old-fashioned style garland strands are a great way to create unique Christmas tree decorations using old pantry staples. Thread the needle and sturdy monofilament through leftover or stale foods such as popcorn, dried fruit, bay leaves, and candy. Or wrap decorative ribbons around pretzels or dried pasta for an unexpected twist. I painted the pasta metallic gold for added shine. Hang it on your Christmas tree out of reach of small children and pets. Once the holidays are over, remove the monofilament/ribbon and place it in a nearby compost bin.

DIY snow globe
daniel daly
Although similar to vignettes, this version is clearly more suitable for younger children. Once you get the jars you want to use, be sure to thoroughly clean them. Next, use a bottle brush or figurine to arrange the scene and glue it to the top of the jar. Now let's create some sparkle. Add 1-2 teaspoons of glitter to the jar. Fill almost to the top with distilled water. Then add a few drops of glycerin and stir. Add a little glue to the top of the jar, place it on the bottom, and once it's dry, flip it over and watch the magic happen.
