We're currently expecting Taylor Swift to announce 'Reputation' (Taylor's version) during her acceptance speech, and expect an album announcement to take place instead. Taylor Swift showed up at the 2022 VMAs in a 'Look What You Made Me Do'-inspired outfit to present Midnight, then wore black and white on the 2024 Grammy Awards red carpet. Wearing an ensemble, she announced to the world that her new album “The Tortured Poets Department'' has been released. Coming this spring!
And Taylor promises the rest of 2024 will be just as exciting as 2023, as she wins the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Award for Artist of the Year. After thanking iHeart and fans. “Most importantly, I have a new album called 'The Tortured Poets Division' and it's coming out on April 19th. I can't wait to share it with you…I'm looking forward to it with you all. I can't wait to continue. Lots of exciting things happening.”
One of those exciting things is the music video that Taylor revealed in her “TTPD Timetable” video on Instagram. This first music video will premiere on his April 19th at 8pm EST. If I had to guess, I'd say the title is from his track “The Tortured Poets Division.” Here's everything else we know about Taylor Swift's new album. (And everything you need to know about Taylor Swift (Taylor's version) too ;)).
What is the Torture Poet Division?

Taylor Swift has spent years talking about her anxiety, sleepless nights, and emotions. “My muse got it like a bruise/My talisman and talisman/Love bomb tick, tick/My inky veins,” she wrote in her official Instagram post. “All's fair in love and poetry.” My guess is that The Tortured Poets Division has a lot of emotional depth and a similarly ethereal, larger-than-life approach to music. I think a lot of artists from the past will be performing.
Judging by the name, The Tortured Poets Division may be a reference to her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn's group chat name. “The Tortured Men's Club” Co-stars Paul Mescal (starred in “Normal People'' and Joe in “Conversations and Friends'', both series based on books by Sally Rooney).
Taylor Swift also has a big connection to the “poetry” side of TTPD, as she has access to an exclusive library installation pop-up ahead of the album's release. From Tuesday, April 16th through Thursday, April 18th, you can head to The Grove in Los Angeles to see all kinds of surprises teasing Swift's latest era with Taylor.
When is the release date of “The Tortured Poets Division”?

The Tortured Poets Division will be discontinued on April 19, 2024. Ahead of the album's release, Taylor Swift appears to be sending fans on a scavenger hunt to collect clues about the album. TikTok's @eurosweetheart points out that Apple Music includes random capital letters in the lyrics of certain songs in Taylor's discography. However, when letters are strung together, they form words. So far, it's “here” and “action”. Will there be an announcement? Is this his Tortured Poets Division lyric? This shouldn't surprise anyone, since Taylor loves to reference games in his lyrics;).
At the Ellas Tour show in Tokyo, Taylor Swift explained when she started working on TTPD. “She's been working on 'Tortured Poets' since right after she appeared on 'Midnights,'” she said on stage. “So, you turn in an album months in advance…and I've been working on it for about two years. I kept working on it throughout the American tour, and when it was perfect, my In my opinion, I completed it when it was good enough for you.”
“Soon you'll hear it too, soon we'll be able to experience it together,” she continued. “I'm over the moon about the fact that people care about my music… People are like, 'Why do you make so many albums?'” And I'm like, “I like it, it's fun. Please leave me alone!''
This latest album follows Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version). When “Midnights” came out after “Fearless (Taylor's Version)” and “Red (Taylor's Version),” I wondered if she would have a pattern of her two re-recordings and her one new album. but it looks like that's what we're getting!
What is Taylor Swift's “Tortured Poet Department”?

Taylor Swift's new album (also known as TS11) is called The Tortured Poets Division. Taylor Swift announced the album while accepting the award for Best Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. We don't know the exact feel of the album, but this past year of his has given us a pretty good clue as to what to expect. I think “Dear Reader” sets the Tortured Poet Department in the same way that “Daylight” at the end of “Lover” sets midnight.
And in honor of the solar eclipse on April 8th, Taylor Swift posted the first lyrics from TS11! “Crowd goes wild at her fingertips // half moonshine // full eclipse,” the lyrics post reads. While some fans think this might be a line from “Florida!!!” (which is expected to be a reference to a show on her Florida Elas tour), others think it's a line from “Florida!!!” says it may be from “Clara Bow.”
“The first line reminds me of a famous person (Clara Bow was an actress). Moonshine is a type of alcohol that was popular during Prohibition in the 1920s, when Clara Bow was famous.” One.
Taylor's official announcement uses even more beautiful language that evokes the same emotion as “The Lakes,” which suggests that TTPD will be similar to Folklore and Evermore (and perhaps Swifties). It might even work as the third sister album I was thinking of) 2021? ). Some fans are convinced that TTPD is connected to his Reputation. TBH, I’m jumping on this train!
“I think these two albums are sister albums, but they're actually opposites,” one Reddit user said. “Reputation is all black, but this is going to be soft-coded all white.” Another agrees. “Reputation is presented as a dark album, but it's really an album of love…This album is presented as soft and white, but the lyrics are sure to blow your mind.”
I love songs like TS11's “Would've, Should've, Could've,” The National's “The Alcott” (with Taylor as a featured artist), and “You're Losing Me.” I hope that he has the same talent for lyrics. . ” Taylor is all about revisiting his past appearances and telling complex stories, and The Tortured Poets Division is no exception. Just as 'Reputation' is an edgy, sparkly and emotional version of the beginning of her relationship with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, TTPD is grounded from the outside looking in. I completely agree that although it may look airbrushed and dreamy, the lyrics are sad.
There's also the argument that TS11 could be a more subtle pop album than Midnights. Now, during a show on her Ellas tour in Sydney, Australia, she performed another questionable surprise song. Taylor Swift, sitting at the piano, takes off her earphones and turns her attention to the keyboard. “Can you hear me?” she says (via TikTok). “My keyboard is playing a synth sound.” Then she does what she almost always does when dropping Easter eggs. She smiles.
One comment read: “This is how the album starts, mark my words.” Another says, “That laugh tells me everything I need to know.”

How many songs will be on “The Tortured Poets Division”?

Taylor Swift dropped the song list for 'The Tortured Poets' Department' on February 5th, but we already have theories about what each track references. Although, IMO, “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” is entirely a reference to Taylor Swift's performance of “Lover” after her breakup with Joe Alwyn (she cried during the set) ), there is a good chance that “Florida!!!” is referring to her first concert in Tampa, the first show she performed after her breakup became public.Taylor Swift's father Scott Swift recently revealed told the fans He's most looking forward to hearing the Swifties' title song and “Florida!!!” The full tracklist for TS11 is below.

There are seven explicit songs on The Tortured Poets Division: “The Tortured Poets Division,” “Down Bad,” “But Daddy I Love Him,” and “Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine).” , “loml,” “You can do it even if you're heartbroken,” and “The smallest man who ever lived.”
What is “Albatross”?

At one of the shows on her Ellas tour in Sydney, Australia, Taylor Swift announced a new version of 'The Tortured Poets' Department' featuring an exclusive bonus track 'The Albatross'. This new album already has some crazy track titles, all with pretty notable meanings.
According to Collins Dictionary, when you call someone an albatross, “they cause you big problems that you can't escape from or prevent you from doing what you want to do,” whereas vaulter refers to someone who gets out of a relationship. (or even bolt from the restaurant to your car, like in this viral clip 🤨).
“The Alchemy”, on the other hand, refers to the continuous process of trying to turn something into gold. Remember when Taylor Swift spent six years saying her relationship with Joe Alwyn was golden? Buckle up your Swifties and TS11 is going to be a wild ride.
What does rom mean?

At first glance, the 12th song on The Tortured Poets Division, “loml,” means “the love of life.” Some fans wondered if this song was an homage to Harry Styles, since the finale song of Harry's House was “Love of My Life” (album). also includes a song called “Daylight,” which also has an interesting connection to Taylor Swift.) But thanks to Bonnie & Emily from ChatsAndReacts, I started thinking about this track in a whole new way.
Emily says Taylor may sing about the love of her life at the beginning of a song, but she also has the potential to switch it up with each verse. “Lie of my life” and “loss of my life” are heartbreaking songs that are exactly what Taylor would write.
Are there any notable artists in The Tortured Poets Division?

Yes, The Tortured Poets Division will feature Florence + The Machine on the song “Florida!!!” And Post Malone's “Fortnite.” And after Taylor Swift teased various collaborations by posting handwritten lyrics from artists like Harry Styles and Lorde, the Swifties revealed that The Tortured Poets Department I think it will be a “collaboration album'' that was not included in the album.
Another clue that leads me to believe this is true is the fact that this album's title is much longer than her other titles. And she calls herself the “chairman” of the department. Who are the members? Are they all the same artist who left Scooter Braun's management last year? As far as I know, surprises aren't out of the question until the end of the TS11 era, so only time will tell. 👀
What is Taylor Swift's double album theory?

Taylor Swift has been dropping a lot of 2's while in Sydney, Australia for her Eras tour. @v_swiftie_ performs a more surprise song mashup than usual in addition to him holding up the number 2 during The Tortured Poets Division announcement, and Taylor Nation says he's holding up the number 13 instead. He points out that he posted an Instagram story featuring the number 2. Tay, I highly doubt it.
