Make your own skeleton Halloween costume
Get ready for the most comfortable Halloween ever! Grab a long sleeve black shirt and black sweatpants. Next, cut or tear a piece of duct tape to the length of a bone and stick it to your clothing. Draw a bone shape on the duct tape, then peel the tape off and lay it flat on a cutting mat. Using an exacto knife, cut out the bone shape. Once you've finished cutting out the bone, you can re-stick it to your clothing.

DIY Halloween bird costume
Kids will love this homemade costume, and you probably already have the necessary white shirt and leggings.
To make them, fold a white and silver cupcake liner and a white coffee filter in half. Cut two oval wing shapes from a leftover cardboard box. Starting on one side, overlap and tape the coffee filter to create a “feather” look, then spread it out at one end to create the wing shape. Add smaller cupcake liners for more texture, and don't forget to mix in a few silver liners to make the sections stand out. Attach a cardboard tube (around your arm) to the back of the “wing” with duct tape to secure it (this is where you will put your arm and wear it). Cover the back of the wing with more coffee filters and cupcake liners to hide the cardboard base. Repeat steps 3-6 with the other wing. Using white mask foam, overlap a few small folded cupcake liners and use double sided tape to create tighter, smaller wings like those on the bird's face.

Kids Plant DIY Halloween Costume
Another great item for kids? This adorable botanical pattern!
To make it, cut a hole in the bottom of the basket wide enough for your hips and legs to fit through comfortably. Download the leaf template and trace it onto green paper. Cut it out and fold it in half. Cut wire to various lengths. Thread a green straw through it to make a stem, adding a little hot glue as you go to keep the straw in place. Hot glue the leaf to the end of the stem. Hot glue the stem to the inside of the basket, not the sides. Once dry, you can reinforce with duct tape if needed. Cut two pieces of green ribbon to use as shoulder straps. Attach to the inside of the front and back of the basket with Velcro tape or safety pins. Wear green clothing and put the basket over your head and drape the strap over your shoulder. Bend the stem around your body for a natural look, and voila!

DIY Disco Ball Halloween Costume
For a really cool look, choose a fun disco ball that you can make using a large cardboard box, spray paint, and aluminum foil.
Once you have your materials, cut two large circles out of a cardboard box. Spray both sides of the circle with silver paint and let it dry completely. While it's drying, cut a 1″ x 2″ rectangle of foil. Cut a piece of duct tape 1/2″ wide and place the rectangle of foil on the sticky side so that most of the foil hangs down (it will look like a flag banner). Starting from the bottom, adhere the tape/foil banner to the silver cardboard circle so that the top layer overlaps the bottom layer. This will create a tile effect. Cut or fold back the tape around the edges of the circle to maintain the round disco ball shape. Complete two circles for the front and back. To create the shoulder and chest straps, measure the length you need, then cut a piece of nylon webbing and tape it to the front and back of the cardboard.
