Tall mirrors hung behind the side tables on either side of the sofa help add a touch of elegance to this living room. (design recipe)
Regardless of size or shape, mirrors can go a long way in enhancing almost any space in your home.
Here are some tips for incorporating mirrors into your interiors.
Consider mirrors as an affordable alternative to traditional art. Mirrors are usually low-cost wall decorations. Consider hanging identical mirrors in a grid or series. This technique is especially effective for creating the illusion of height or width in a space. Look for unusual shapes and sizes to add an inviting touch. Lose weight! For many people, the look of an ultra-thin frame is an attractive option. Suitable for a modern, subtle look that blends beautifully into the background without overwhelming or dominating.
Try floor mirrors. Floor mirrors aren't just for corners and oddly shaped gaps. Why not incorporate them as part of your main design statement, such as placing them on either side of your fireplace mantel?
Use shape mapping. This is a designer trick of repeating shapes throughout a space. For example, pair artwork depicting a circle, square, or oval with a mirror of the same shape. Use mirrors in small spaces. It can make the room look larger. Consider interesting finishes and colors. From red, yellow, and black to metallic finishes like silver and gold, mirrors can add color to your space. Hang mirrors in pairs or groups. Whether you hang them in even or odd numbers, organizing your mirrors or hanging them in whimsical groups can be a creative way to use them. Please combine. Mixing and matching mirrors of different frames, shapes and sizes is not only interesting and fun. You can also mix in framed black and white prints.
